When You Just “Can't” Today | Sandi Parkey Pink Zebra Independent Consultant
Life is hard, ladies. And motherhood—even harder. But whether you’re a Pink Zebra consultant, a corporate executive or a stay-at-home mom, there are just some days that you can’t deal.
And you know what? That’s OK! For those days that you feel you’re just about to lose your mind, here are some tips that help me get through the hard days.
I’m About to Lose My Mind Up in Here!
You might have heard people saying that September is the new January. However, while the month of September is a time for new beginnings, it can also be a time that I seem to have lost my tolerance for stress a little bit. Fortunately, when those days occur (and they are going to), here are some things to do:
First, it’s OK if you don’t have a gourmet meal on the table at 5 p.m. Certainly fast food isn’t the place to turn to for a meal every day. However, it’s totally fine to turn to your crockpot for dinnerregularly. Or if you’re feeling energized one night, pre-cook a casserole or a rotisserie chicken so that it’s ready to go tomorrow. That’s the type of fast food we can all get behind!
Second, don’t be afraid to ask for help! No one can do everything—not even a supermom. But one of the wonderful things about being a Pink Zebra consultant is the sisterhood it brings. Some of my Pink Zebra sisters are my best friends. I turn to them for both professional and personal support. It takes a village, and some of the people in my village I have met in the Pink Zebra business.
Finally, when you feel like the stress is about to boil over, go for a walk, meditate, etc. Do something that’s going to help you just de-stress. While it’s different for everyone, find out the most calming activity you can do for you that helps to bring you down a notch—or two or three.
