The kids have probably been counting down until the last day of school for a while. And while you are excited about having them home this summer, work doesn’t stop.
As a Pink Zebra consultant, I am familiar with the need to balance work with family time. That’s why I want to offer tips on how you can entertain the kiddos during the summer months while still getting work done at home.
Make a Summer Plan Now
It doesn’t take too many days off of school before the kids start yelling, I’m bored! So go ahead and get a plan in place now for how you can keep them entertained while you are being productive.
Anyone Up for a Play Date?
Chances are you are not the only parent with the need for summer care. However, caregiving in the summer can become expensive—fast.
So talk with your friends about their plans for the summer and consider hosting a summer play date group where everyone takes turns taking the kids throughout the week so that others are able to get work done! That way you know your kids are in good hands, having fun with other kids and you are not having to spend an arm and a leg for child care.
Keep the Learning Going
During the day, set up educational stations for the kids to go through while you are performing work tasks. For instance, for one hour they can listen to an audiobook, the next hour play an educational game on the iPad, and so on and so forth!
That way you do not have to worry about sticking the children in front of a TV while you get work done. Instead, they’ll be spending time having fun while also learning—and you can get some work done.
Who Is Ready for Summer Camp?
Has your child ever been to camp? There are a number of options available during the summer months. From day camps to overnight camps, do your research to find what type of camp is best suited for your child.
